Jet Strike
Of all the vehicles both fictional and otherwise, many would say that jets are among the coolest which is why Jet Strike may lure you in. You are a jet pilot on a non-stop flight for extreme missions. Well, if it were accurate, the jet would be flying at a speed that would be difficult to handle when it comes to fighting and identifying your surroundings, but this is a game that has slowed things down. It's all about flying forward and shooting down all the enemy fighters to clear up the skies and make it safe for all those on the ground.
About Jet Strike
It's fun to think about what it would be like to pilot a jet flying fast and high in a clear blue sky, but activities can come with conflict. This game is all about the combat side of what a jet pilot could go through. In real life, it's much more chaotic with fewer enemy fighters to deal with, but it's still got some of the combat elements going for it. You just need to keep things steady and keep a clear eye on your targets. This can get trickier the more targets you have on screen, but if they're firing at you, that's all the more reason to fire everything that you've got.
How to Play
Jet Strike is an arcade-style top-down shoot 'em-up where you're flying in a jet and fighting using the keyboard.
Controls
- Up Arrow - Fly Forward
- Down Arrow - Pull Back
- Left Arrow - Fly Left
- Right Arrow - Fly Right
- Z - Launch Missiles
- X - Fire Machine Guns
You're on an endless flight with constant waves of enemies coming at you. The goal is to shoot as many of them down while you still have the power.
When you begin, the jet will spawn at the bottom of the screen in the center. Enemies will start appearing from the top of the screen, moving in different patterns, and firing different weapons at you. Your jet has access to two weapons: Missiles and guns. The guns have infinite ammo and will fire in a straight line stream out from the front of the jet. Missiles are finite (with the ammo counter on the right of the screen), but deal the most damage and will zoom in on targets.
Your targets can take the form of jets or helicopters. Both have access to the same weapons you do and will fire them when they get close enough. When you get hit, you'll take damage to your health indicated by the heart monitor on the right side of the screen. If it drops to zero, your jet will be destroyed and you'll need to start from the beginning. Destroying targets can earn you power-ups that can refill your health and missiles, and give you a temporary shield.
Tips and Tricks
Like with other shoot 'em-ups, you never want to be flying too close to where enemies will appear. It can be tempting to shoot every target in sight, but avoiding them is also a perfectly viable option. Strafing is very effective when firing with the machine guns, so save your missiles for when the screen gets too crowded.
