Mini Jumps
Jumping is the most common action in all video games with some games being entirely centered around it like with Mini Jumps. You're returning to a colorful and peaceful world where it seems that the most active creatures around are slimes. The slimes have different behaviors to go along with their different colors. This particular slime is orange with a very high vertical jump ability. Unfortunately, it's also a very sticky slime, meaning it can't move as easily as it would like. There is hope, however, since the environment can help the slime get to where it needs to be with your guidance.
About Mini Jumps
The jumping mechanic can make or break a platform game even more so when jumping is all that you can do. This game takes jumping and gives you a character that can use it in a very limited way. Of course, this paves the way for level design to involve all sorts of moving pieces that you can interact with using timing. It's not as fast-paced or exciting as traditional platform games but still has something to offer in terms of puzzles and challenges. It may be a short experience, but a lack of patience and trying to play this like other platform games is not the best solution.
How to Play
Mini Jumps is a 2D puzzle platform game about a very sticky slime jumping around using the mouse or keyboard. To make the slime jump, press X/Spacebar or the Left Mouse Button. To jump the button, hold down your preferred button longer. Aside from jumping, the slime will not and cannot move from whichever spot it's stuck. Your goal is to complete the levels by getting the slime to the flowers.
The level works with the slime, composed of a base and moving blocks. The blocks can come in various arrangements and will either move side to side or up and down. By timing the movements of the blocks, the slime can jump and then land on them to make progress. When on a solid surface, the slime can still be pushed by the force of a block. Due to its stickiness, the slime can also stick to the underside of surfaces. The main danger that the slime has to deal with is getting crushed between blocks and surfaces. If this happens, you'll need to restart the level.
Tips and Tricks
The levels are quite small and contained, but the blocks can move sharply and at the same time which can disorient you. Locate where the flowers are and then plan a route to them. Look before you leap to make sure you accidentally jump on blocks that are going backward.
