Drop the Number - Merge Game
You can argue that life is a numbers game and that's why there are so many actual games that rely on numbers to play such as Drop The Number. Looking at games like Sudoku and 2048, the usual gameplay involves adding numbers together to get bigger numbers and clear space for even more numbers to fall. Even if you aren't good at math, you can quickly get a feel for the mechanics and the rules based on visual feedback. The instructions are pretty clear in that you have to drop the number hopefully on top of other numbers to keep the screen clear.
About Drop The Number
Numbers games are not for everybody since math can be seen as boring or intimidating but many major games have you thinking about numbers regularly. This is a game that's all about numbers and it has a bit of the classic Tetris flair thrown into to mix. All you have to do is keep the space clear by making it so that the numbers fall into each other. Since the numbers are dropping, there is some weight to all of the additions you make. The more you combine, the closer you get to reaching new highs (and lows) by dropping the numbers.
How to Play
Drop The Number is a 2D numbers puzzle game that you can play with just the mouse. When number tiles appear at the top of the board, you can determine which column they drop into by moving the cursor over to it, clicking and holding the Left Mouse Button, then dragging it to where you want it. The goal is to keep the board as clear for as long as possible by making bigger and bigger number tiles.
Much like 2048, the mechanics revolve around combining the same numbers. You'll start small with tiles of 2, which will increase as time goes on. All the tiles will be in a factor of 2 and you can eventually end up with tiles of very high numbers. Numbers can be combined in two ways: Either by dropping the tile with a matching number on top of it or by positioning them next to each other. The game ends once one of the number columns reaches the top of the board.
Tips and Tricks
This is essentially a matching game with many of the tiles color-coded for convenience. You have time to decide where the numbers will fall so there's no rush to cause them to drop. Try to keep your higher numbers toward the outside of the board and then build into the center.
